How I learn Spanish

By Edmara Oliveira - July 26, 2020

Everyone always thinks that Spanish is my native language because I am latina from Brazil, but the true is that my native language is the Portuguese and it's the only official language here. Even I became curious I started to study Spanish as a non-native. The two language are considered similar by native speakers. I made a brief summary of as I learn this language and you can too.

  • I use grammar books
A grammar book contain rules and regularities of the language and it's need to write and speak correctly a language. It helps me to understand the correct order of the sentences. When I start to understand the grammar I compose sentence easier.
  • I listening to songs
Listening to song helps to understand the correct pronounce of words and sentences. Listening to song it's fun and cool to do. I recommend some songs easier and after you try some hard.

  • Watching TV shows
In other post (click here to read) I wrote about a couple of TV shows you can to watch in Spanish language. They will help to understand how they are using their language daily. In the meantime you will need of self-discipline to learn any language.
  • Practicing what I learn (Speaking)
I think that Spanish is the second language more easy to find people to practice. In my case it's the first, because I am in Latin America, but in the around of the world many people are learning Spanish or they are native speaker. You can find someone who speaks this language easy.

  • Writing in a notebook or social media

When aren't in the Country of the language we're learning is easy to forget words and sentences. The best way to don't forget the writing is using a notebook to write new words or using our social media to writing things of the your daily life. I use both ( you can find me on instagram @edmarareal). The time isn't important, if you want to learn you have very well the idiom. Maybe it can be fast or not, it depend of your self-discipline and determination.
